Frances Perry House Hotel Program

We understand that welcoming a new baby can be an exciting, and at times challenging, experience. Our patients have told us that after your baby is born, you value the chance to take a breath, to enjoy some luxury and have some additional time to bond with your newborn before you transition home.

We are extremely proud to offer you the opportunity to spend two nights at the iconic and historic, five-star InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto Hotel on Collins Street in Melbourne. You will enjoy staying in a luxurious and quiet room, with ample space for you, your baby, and your toddler if you would like them to stay with you.

What’s included?

You and your partners meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and valet car parking are included in your stay. You can also expect a beautiful welcome gift from the InterContinental team, enabling you to continue to indulge in a luxurious experience once you head home.

Care & support at the hotel

Please be aware that there won't be continuous care from midwives or hospital staff at the hotel. A midwife will visit you once a day, to weigh your baby and conduct any other checks as required by your doctors. We strongly believe that if you require the support of our team of nurses, allied health staff and doctors, you should remain in our care at Frances Perry House.

Postnatal lactation support

You will be offered an appointment with one of our Lactation Consultants at the Maternity Care Centre for 7-10 days post your discharge from Frances Perry House. It is entirely up to you if you wish to make this appointment. If you do wish to book this service, we can do this for you on discharge.

Eligibility

As always, the safety of you and your baby is our highest priority at Frances Perry House. We therefore require confirmation from your doctor and paediatrician that they are happy for you and your baby to be discharged from the hospital to be eligible to participate in this program.
