Perinatal Mental Health Unit – Melbourne

Our Perinatal Mental Health Unit provides specialised care for women with mental health conditions that develop or exacerbate during pregnancy or in the post-natal period.

Whilst the unit is located in the leafy suburb of Mitcham, the unit can happily accommodate parents from any Melbourne suburb and all parts of Victoria and interstate.

Our 6 bed unit has been specifically furbished to provide a calm and relaxed retreat for families. Admission to the unit is voluntary, with patients actively participating in their recovery. Women are admitted under the care of a psychiatrist and encouraged to have their babies with them during the hospital stay. Mothers can be admitted with their babies up to the age of 12 months.

• Medication Changes
