Dr Peter Wein is an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in both public and private health, with an interest in diabetes, thyroid disease and Jewish women’s health. He was born and bred in Melbourne and provides a broad range of care in pregnancy and women’s health.
Dr Wein is dedicated to providing optimum care to mothers and babies, with a particular emphasis on the throughtful application of evidence based practice. He chooses not to participate in any regular weekend rosters outside of his practice, so patients can be assured he will be available to them and involved in the delivery. His practice is very family orientated and he shares his practice with his father, who was also an obstetrician.
Dr Wein is equipped with a portable ultrasound machine and achieved full accreditation in the Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Scheme. His involvement in both public and private health service means he is able to keep abreast of the latest trends and continuously build knowledge in his field.
Dr Wein studied medicine at the University of Melbourne and completed most of his training at the Royal Women’s Hospital as well as abroad in the UK. He has lectured at the University of Melbourne Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and was Head of the Diabetes unit before becoming Director of Birth Suites and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne.
