Dr Prue Standen is a recent Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Prue has worked in Tertiary centres in Perth and Melbourne and has an interest in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with skills in preconception care, antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal obstetric care, as well as family planning, colposcopy, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy and pelvic floor dysfunction.
She graduated from Flinders University in 2010 and moved to Perth, where she lived for eight years before moving to Melbourne. She undertook training positions at King Edward Memorial Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital for Specialist Registrar rotations in obstetrics & gynaecology, general surgery, vascular surgery and trauma.
However, it was her time spent at King Edward Memorial Hospital working in high risk obstetric care which piqued her interest and a passion for women’s health was born!
Prue undertook futher training at King Edward Memorial Hospital before moving to Melbourne to complete advanced training in obstetric care, pelvic floor disorders and minimally invasive surgery.
In her spare time, Prue enjoys sailing at Royal Yacht Club of Victoria in Williamstown and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Tropical Medicine and Public health.
Dr Prue Standen is passionate about providing high quality, patient centred care to the women of Western Melbourne and has an interest in all facets of women’s health. She enjoys the continuity that comes with providing care to women for preconception and antenatal, postnatal care and gynaecology and believes that it is a privilege to be a part of this exciting time in people’s lives.
Prue will be consulting from her Williamstown rooms and delivering obstetric and surgical services at Frances Perry House.
